Shahrukh Khan Salman Khan Rivalry: Why Deepika Padukone Refused to be Part of Salman's 'Kick'
Here is a prime example of how the Shahrukh Khan-Salman Khan rivalry affects other Bollywood folks as well:
Reportedly, Deepika Padukone was approached for a special item song performance in Salman Khan's upcoming film, Kick, for which the actor has been shooting non-stop. However, the Chennai Express actress turned it down.
This act reveals her loyalty towards Shahrukh Khan, who launched her Bollywood career through the 2007 hit, Om Shanti Om, reports DNA.
With a string of superhits behind her, Padukone is currently the most sought after actress in Bollywood. She also stars in SRK's upcoming film Happy New Year. Her appearance in the eagerly-awaited Salman Khan starrer would have only added to her glorious run at the box office but clearly, she wants to stay aligned to SRK.
Now, as per latest rumours, Salman's ex flame Katrina Kaif might be roped in for the item song in the film. The former couple was last seen in the 2012 blockbuster action film - Ek Tha Tiger.
Kick's producer/ director, Sajid Nadiawala is hoping to bring them back on the big screen through the special item number, although Salman is yet to give a thumbs up on it.
If all goes well, the shooting of the song is said to start in June. While Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif fans will be happy with this development, it might not be an as exciting piece of news for Kaif's current boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
Check out this funny scene between Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan from the comedy film - Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani:
This is not the first time the SRK-Salman feud has affected their female co-stars. The rivalry, allegedly, also caused some misunderstanding between Priyanka Chopra, Salman and SRK around 2012. The trio, however, seem to have resolved their issues now.
Yet another such 'act-of-loyalty' instance can be observed with Sonakshi Sinha. The popular actress who made her debut in Bollywood alongside Salman Khan in Dabangg, till date has not been associated with any SRK related project. We wonder why.
