Simon Danczuk rape allegation: Labour MP questioned over sex attack weeks after being caught 'sexting'
Suspended Labour MP Simon Danczuk has been interviewed by Lancashire Police in connection with a rape allegation. The Rochdale MP was not arrested but interviewed under caution and attended the station voluntarily to answer questions following a rape complaint made by a 39-year-old woman on 4 January.
Danczuk has been at the centre of tabloid revelations in recent weeks after it emerged he exchanged explicit text messages to 17-year-old Rochdale student Sophena Houlihan. His ex-wife Sonia Rossington also accused him of being a "sexual predator" in an interview with the Mail on Sunday and that he was often "too stoned".
In a statement, the MP described the rape allegation as "malicious, untrue and upsetting" as Labour continues to investigate the 'sexting' affair.
