Numerous events took place across Wales on 1 March to mark St David's Day, as thousands of people celebrated their Welsh heritage and culture. St David, also known as Dewi Sant in Welsh, is the patron saint of Wales.
Traditional festivities on St David's Day include wearing daffodils and leeks, recognised symbols of Wales and Saint David respectively, eating traditional Welsh food including cawl and Welsh rarebit, and wearing traditional Welsh dress. Parades are held across the country, with one of the largest in the capital, Cardiff.
