MELANIA APPEARS NATALIE VANISHES
Donald and Melania Trump reportedly had a tense exchange at Washington’s Freedom 250 Grand Prix, according to a lip-reading analysis of event footage The White House/WIKIMEDIA COMMONS

Donald and Melania Trump were filmed having a private conversation during the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, DC, on Sunday, 23 August, with a lip reader later claiming President Trump told the First Lady, 'I've had enough of her.'

The footage contains no audible dialogue establishing what the couple said, meaning the interpretation cannot be independently verified.

The exchange took place as President Trump attended the Freedom 250 event with Melania Trump and Donald Trump Jr. Trump took a ceremonial lap of the course in the presidential limousine with Melania before waving the green flag to start the race. The event was staged as part of celebrations marking America's semiquincentennial.

The inaugural IndyCar race ran for 250 miles over 147 laps through central Washington, including sections around the National Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue. American driver Kyle Kirkwood ultimately won the race.

Trump also praised the event and the weather during his appearance, saying organisers had been attempting to stage a race in Washington for two decades.

'It turned out to be, I think, bigger and better,' he said. 'And the weather is beautiful.'

He also dismissed forecasts of rain, saying, 'I was hearing about rain all week long. It's going to rain. It's going to rain. I said, "No it's not." And this is as nice a day as I've seen in Washington in a long time.'

Lip Reader Claims Trump Said 'I've Had Enough of Her'

Attention later shifted from the race to footage showing a conversation between the President and First Lady. Nicola Hickling, described in reports as a professional lip reader, analysed the footage and offered her interpretation of what the couple may have said.

Hickling claimed Melania appeared to say, 'That is private and valuable text.' She interpreted Trump's response as, 'Was it enough?'

According to Hickling's interpretation, Melania then appeared to respond, 'I don't know,' before Trump was said to have replied, 'Then I need to see it.'

Hickling further interpreted Melania's words as, 'Donald, listen, I'm gonna go.'

Trump then appeared to say, according to Hickling, 'Listen she asked you not to close the door.' Hickling interpreted another portion of the exchange as Trump saying: 'It's bad news, but it's a bad timing Melania.'

'That's crazy,' Melania was interpreted as saying before leaning towards the President. Hickling then claimed Trump appeared to make the comment that generated much of the subsequent attention: 'I've had enough of her.'

Melania later appeared to whisper again, with Hickling interpreting her words as, 'Obviously I'll see and talk to her in the morning.'

Hickling's analysis does not establish what the couple actually said. The footage does not provide clear audio of the conversation, and neither Donald nor Melania Trump has publicly confirmed the alleged remarks. IBTimes UK therefore cannot independently verify the lip-reading interpretation.

Freedom 250 Footage Draws Online Reaction

The conversation was not the only part of the event that attracted scrutiny online. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a video on X showing Trump beside Melania as he waved the green flag.

The footage was first posted with the caption, 'New Trump gif unlocked.' Leavitt reshared it with a crying-laughing emoji, presenting the moment as a light-hearted clip from the race.

The President's role in starting the race is independently documented. Trump stood alongside Melania as he waved the green flag following their ceremonial lap of the course.

Some social media users subsequently mocked Trump's appearance and flag-waving, while others focused on the footage of his conversation with Melania.

Those reactions largely reflected partisan interpretations of brief video clips rather than independently established information about the couple's conversation.

The footage ultimately establishes only that Donald and Melania Trump spoke privately during the event. Without audible dialogue or confirmation from either of them, claims about precisely what was said, including the identity of the unnamed 'her' in Hickling's interpretation, remain unverified.

What can be confirmed is the setting. Trump and Melania attended the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix, took a ceremonial lap together and stood alongside one another as the President waved the green flag to begin the race. What the cameras could not establish was the substance of their private conversation.
