Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are abandoning royal tradition and are skipping the mandatory uniform for their child's nanny. The royal couple says this is to give their son Archie Harrison a normal childhood.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex want their child to have a "normal upbringing" and this involves having a nanny that wears casual clothes instead of a uniform. This contradicts how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, want their children's nanny to dress during work hours.

Maria Teresa Borrallo, Prince George and Princess Charlotte's nanny, always wears a hat, a pair of gloves, and a defining uniform when on duty. This is mandatory for Prince William and Kate Middleton and is also a practice for the British Royal Family.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want no such thing for their firstborn. Royal commentator Omid Scobie reveals to Yahoo UK's 'The Royal Box' that Prince Harry does not want "a woman in uniform" around his child.

"'This isn't Mary Poppins, we're going to have a normal household,'" Scobie quotes Prince Harry as saying.

Moreover, the Invictus Games founder and his wife, a former "Suits" actress, opted for a nanny who is not a Norlander, or an alumnus from Norland College. Prince William and Kate Middleton hired a nanny who is a graduate of the elite childcare training provider.

Archie's nanny recently joined the family for a vacation in Nice and she was spotted wearing casual wear while boarding a private jet. According to a source, Meghan calls her a "godsend" because she is "extremely professional."

"Meghan is a very hands-on mum but the new nanny is a godsend," the source tells The Sun.

The insider adds that the new nanny has "a number of nannying years under her belt, and has fitted into the family really well." Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be "very happy with her" and she's also great with Archie, whom she adores.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been through two nannies for Archie. The first was reportedly fired for being unprofessional, while the second was hired to work nights only.
