This is what it's like to ride the highest slide in the world
The tunnel slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London opened on 24 June.
The highest and longest slide in the world opened in London on 24 June at the ArcelorMittal Orbit in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. IBTimes UK went up the tower and took a plunge into the 178-long slide.
The slide takes riders about 40 seconds to reach the bottom, reaching speeds of up to 15mph as the slide loops its way around the sculpture 12 times.
A single adult entry ticket costs £17 (£15 in advance), with children between the ages of 8-16 paying £10. Seniors and students with identification pay £12. Family ticket for four people – two being under 16 – costs £46.
The slide is expected to stay the highest slide in the world until the Skyslide opens in Los Angeles. The slide will hang outside an LA skyscraper at almost 300m, letting people travel between two floors.
