Three die in bombing near US consulate in Pakistan
At least three people have died and 19 people injured, in a suicide bombing that hit a vehicle as it left the US consulate in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar.
This footage shows the moment the fire services arrive as the car still burns. The bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into the four-wheel-drive vehicle as it left the offices. US officials in Pakistan said no one from their Peshawar consulate was killed, but they were investigating whether any US citizens had died as a US passport was found in the wreckage. Taliban and al-Qaeda militants operate in the area and the city has been targeted frequently in bombings in recent years - though US officials are said to be protected by extensive security measures.
Police officials have not released the identities of the victims yet. They added they are not sure about the nature of the 240lbs explosives used in the attack or whether it was a remote control bomb or not. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
