Jungle lovebirds Joey Essex and Amy Willerton have embarked on a whirlwind romance following their appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The Only way Is Essex star and beauty queen, who constantly flirted throughout their stint on the ITV1 show, confirmed that they made their romance official with a date at McDonalds.

"Our first date was amazing," Essex told The Mirror as he proudly wrapped his arm around the blonde beauty at the wrap up-party held at Palazzo Versace hotel in Queensland.

"I'm very happy. Look at her. She's beautiful," he gushed.

Willerton, who was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain, and Essex have become inseparable since leaving camp.

"We've had a lovely night together. The party was amazing. They certainly know how to have a good time here. We've had a really lovely time," Willerton said.

"Mind you, we have been drinking since 5am this morning, when we were in the jungle."

Describing their first romantic meal as a couple, she added: "We had 20 McNuggets, two Big Macs, fries, apple pies... the works. It was lovely."

Their announcement comes days after they cozied up for a snap on a sunlounger.

The reality star posted the pic on his Instagram account, along with the caption: "Chilling by the pool. Versace Versace Versace @amywillerton."

He later shared a snap of the two of them tucking into a post-jungle feast, writing: "Room service on first night #foodglourousfood [sic]."
