Two stabbed in morning brawl on central London street
One man suffered life-threatening injuries following alleged fight on New Oxford Street.
A man has been arrested after two people were stabbed in a fight on a busy central London street. Police were called to reports of a brawl on New Oxford Street just after 11.25am on 21 April.
When officers arrived, a man was found with possible life-threatening stab wounds. A woman also received minor injuries during the apparent altercation.
A 29-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Police said they are not treating the incident as terror-related.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested following a fight in Camden this morning.
"Police were called at 11.26am on Friday, 21 April to reports of an assault in New Oxford Street, WC1.
"Officers attended and found a man and woman with stab wounds. The man (no further details) has been taken a central London hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.
"The woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, has also been taken to a central London hospital with minor injuries."
A crime scene is in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area as there are road closures.
