Shawn Tyson was given two life sentences after being found guilty of murdering two British tourists James Kouzaris and James Cooper who were on holiday in the US, after they drunkenly walked into a housing estate in Sarasota in April last year.

In the courtroom emotional tributes were paid to the two men by friends.

Addressing Tyson personally ,who sat impassively throughout the hearing, another friend said that this act had ended, all, the lives of everyone involved.

It is believed, he shot one of the men in the side and he died instantly. The other man then pleaded in vain for his life, before he was shot dead as well. The parents of the two men were not in court when the verdict was announced.
