Viktor Axelsen will take on Chen Long in the second Men's badminton semi-final at the Rio 2016 Olympics on Friday (19 August).

Overview
World number four Axelsen, will be hoping to make it to the final of the men's badminton event by winning the semi-final clash on Friday. It is his first time in the Olympics and he will be look to bag gold at the 2016 Games.
In the quarter-final clash, Axelsen defeated Rajiv Ouseph to make it to the last four of the event. The match lasted 39 minutes as the Denmark star sealed a comfortable, straight set victory over Ouseph. The final scoreline was 21-12, 21-16.
Meanwhile, Long faced South Korea's Son Wan-Ho in the quarter-final. Although the Chinese star won the first set 21-11 in 26 minutes, he lost the second set 21-18, and failed to register a win in straight sets.
However, Long ensured that he bounced back in the third and final set to clinch the match. He beat Wan-Ho 21-11 and that saw him make it to the last four of the event in Rio. A victory for either Axelsen or Long on Friday will see him assure at least a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
