The Walking Dead season 6: Plot and production updates; Rick and Morgan clash, new storyline and 'total chaos' teased
New plot and production updates on The Walking Dead season 6 have surfaced online. AMC released a short video (below) teasing details about season 6, which is set to premiere in October 2015. The video features the show's cast and crew discussing what fans can expect from the upcoming episodes.
One of season 6's focus areas will likely be uncovering the mystery behind the Wolves. After Daryl's encounter with the tribe during the season 5 finale, actor Norman Reedus predicted that "season 6 will be total chaos".
Michael Cudlitz, who plays Abraham and added, "That threat will become very real", when the rest of 2015's episodes begin. Co-executive producer Denise Huth solidified such speculation by saying future encounters with the Wolves "aren't going to be pretty" for those involved. (Via Design & Trend)
Another exciting development for the series' future is the return of Lennie James to the cast as Morgan Jones - which Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick) believes will bring an interesting 'war and peace' dynamic between Rick and Morgan.
"What I'm excited about is potentially a reunion between those two great men and great friends," Lincoln said, referring to Rick and Morgan. "But also a splintering in ideologies. It seems like this is a man that's about peace now and Rick is the polar opposite. I think that's going to cause a lot of conflict and confusion."
The show's executive producer Scott M Gimple revealed that the first eight episodes of TWD season 6 will introduce a different storyline to the show - a pattern the series follows consistently to keep things interesting.
"Every eight episodes this show turns into a new show," said Gimple and added, "The next eight episodes are going to be very different than these last eight episodes."
Unfortunately, there was no mention of the brutal villain Negan who is rumoured to appear as the primary antagonist in season 6.
