Watford 0-3 Arsenal: Barclays Premier League - Live
Arsenal having their meeting with Bayern Munich on Tuesday and mind and seem happy to just pass it around. That's until Bellerin springs into gear, jinking past a couple of poor challenges before guiding the bal into Ramsey's path. He prods a shot on goal and it squirms under Gomes for Arsenal's third.
Arsenal are cruising now. Off the bench to replace Theo Walcott, Giroud is picked out in the six yard area by a wonderful flicked cross from Ozil and the Frenchman hammers a tidy half volley into the roof of the net.
Prior to that, the Gunners were pinging the ball about beautifully. The goal was coming, and this game, as a contest, is over.
Arsenal have their breakthrough! But Watford are furious. Etienne Capoue feels he should have been given a penalty after charging into the box at one end and going down under pressure from Coquelin, but the referee waves play on and Arsenal counter. Cazorla and Ozil work a sublime one two on the edge of the box and the latter looks to be fouled just as he is about to pull the trigger. It's surely a penalty, but Sanchez is well placed to lift the ball into the back of the net and save the ref the trouble.
A long ball over the top causes a pit of panic with Deeney and Mertesacker vying to get on the end of it. Cech comes rushing out of his goal however and boots it away at the second attempt, but Watford fans scream for hand ball. The ball looked to have bobbled off the goalkeeper's shoulder, but nothing more.
Oh Ighalo. Watford continue to look dangerous and the Nigerian is sprung free down the inside right after a clipped ball over from Anya. But instead of slotting it across goal, he toe punts a woeful effort well wide. That was really, really bad. Ighalo claims he was shoved by Koscielny but there definitely wasn't enough to justify an attempt that bad.
TEAM NEWS - Watford: Ikechi Anya, Valon Behrami and Allan Nyom all sat out the international break to recover from their injuries but this evening's game is likely to come too soon for them. They join Jose Manuel Jurado, Joel Ekstrand and Tommie Hoban on the absentee list.
TEAM NEWS - Arsenal: Despite a niggling injury, Alexis Sanchez featured twice for Chile during the international break. The hip problem suffered in the 3-0 win over Manchester United could rule him out of tonight's game, with both he and Laurent Koscielny facing late fitness tests. The centre half has not played since the 3-2 Champions League defeat to Olympiakos.
Wenger told a press conference on Thursday: "The only thing today is Koscielny has a definite test to see if he is available or not. I am not [comfortable that Sanchez played against Brazil and Peru] but there is not a lot I can do about it. He came off as you saw against Manchester United with a hip problem, a rotator muscle, and he wants to go.
"I have to check him. he played in the last two games, we have to see when he comes back but of course it is always a tricky situation that. They play official qualifiers of the World Cup and he is an important player for them and you know that they will use him if he can. He is a guy who wants always to play so I knew that it cold be a tricky situation for us."
