Wolfhound-PRO Can Track Cell Phone Activities Anywhere
Berkeley Varitronics Systems (BVS) has created a new hand-held cell phone detector called Wolfhound-PRO at Metuchen, New Jersey. BVS has been in the business of providing advance wireless solutions and products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunication and security markets for over 38 years.
Third among BVS' advanced, award-winning cell phone detection products, the Wolfhound-PRO leads in terms of sensitivity and features. It is an advanced cell phone detector, which can track cell phones anywhere, whether in active or standby mode, including in restricted areas like prisons, courts and financial institutions.
The detector has an antenna that tracks radio frequencies produced by any cell phone. It also has some unique features like direction finding (DF) antenna, OLED screen and USB port. DF antenna pinpoints the exact location of the cell phone. It also has an OLED screen and Li-ION rechargeable battery that can run for more than 4 hours. It has a built-in memory which shows the exact time when the call was received. It also has a USB port that allows the user to upload all the internal memory of the detector to the PC for further analysis. It can even select and sense phone signals in a noisy environment. The best features of the product are its clear screen, audible and vibration alert options, high degree of detection and laser indicator.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), the use of contraband cell phones by inmates has risen as the U.S. prison population continues to expand. The Wolfhound-PRO will be very useful in prisons as it will help officers track any cell phone activity. Cell phones are often misused by criminals in prison. In 2010, police officers had seized 6,000 cell phones from a prison in California. More than 2,000 contraband cell phones were also confiscated in Mississippi.
"General purpose cell phone detectors on the market today that typically originate from Asia do not work well as they are wideband and do not filter out unwanted signals. The Wolfhound-PRO on the other hand has sharp filters for the US/European cell phone bands and thus filters out the interfering signals. The high speed patent-pending receiver has a unique 'detection' algorithm that allows for quick detection and location of contraband cell phones," said Scott Schober, President of BVS.
BVS has created several wireless test devices for various applications like the popular Cellular, iDEN, PCS, CDMA, RFID, LTE, Mobile WiMAX, FIXED WiMAX, 802.11b/a/n/g & Bluetooth specifications.
