Wood Green shooting: Hitmen-jailbreak plot suspects in court after deadly police clash
Four men have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to break free two criminals from a prison van on the way to a north London court, during which a man was shot dead by police. The four suspects are charged with conspiracy with to help Izzet Eren, 32, and Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi, 29, escape custody as they made their way to Wood Green Crown Court in North London on 11 December.
Ozcan Eren, 32, of Wood Green, and Eren Hayser, 25 of Enfield, have both been charged with conspiracy to aid the escape of the two offenders. Nathan Mason, 30, and Gokay Sogucakli, 19, both of Tottenham, have been charged with the same offence as well as possession of an imitation firearm and using a motor vehicle which had been taken without the consent of the owner.
All four men are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Mon day (14 December) to face the charges. The men were arrested following a police operation in the Bracknell Close area of Wood Green which resulted in a 28-year-old man from Tottenham being killed by armed officers.
The Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) are both investigating the incident.
Izzet Eren and Amoyaw-Gyamfi were sentenced to 14 years in jail after they were arrested riding a stolen motorbike and found in possession of a Skorpion sub-machine gun and Tokarev handgun on 13 October in North London. They were stopped on their way to "kill, or maim or wound" an unnamed person.
