The Queen has paid her respects to British soldier Lee Rigby who was killed in a daylight attack just a few hundred meetings from the barracks in south London where he was stationed.
The monarch met former colleagues and officers at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich in a trip arranged before Rigby's death.
She also had a private meeting with military personnel who coordinated the barracks' response to news of the death and officers who were in Drummer Rigby's chain of command.
Rigby was a member of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
