World Snooker Championship 2014: Ronnie O'Sullivan Rockets Into Semi-final After Shaun Murphy Win
Ronnie O'Sullivan produced a virtuoso showing to reach the World Championship semi-final at the expense of Shaun Murphy and continue his assault on a sixth world title at the Crucible.
Leading 6-2 overnight, the defending champion extending his advantage by two before Murphy hit back in a closely contested 13th frame.
But the 38 year old O'Sullivan, who is seeking a third successive title in Sheffield, won the next three frames in the most assured performance yet of his campaign having already beaten Robin Hull and Joe Perry in the opening two rounds.
O'Sullivan will face either Barry Hawkins or Dominic Dale in the semi-final in pursuit of a sixth final appearance while the other last four clash will see Mark Selby face either Judd Trump or Neil Robertson.
