WWE planning a fight between AJ Styles and The Undertaker at Royal Rumble
There could be an issue with the fixture as the Deadman is recovering from a hip surgery.
After surprising fans with a Bill Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar fight at Survivor Series, the WWE is looking to put on another amazing show for the fans at Royal Rumble, which is scheduled to take place at Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on 29 January.
According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, WWE is planning a fight between champion AJ Styles and The Undertaker at Royal Rumble. However, there could be a timing issue with regards to the Deadman's availability as he is recovering from a hip surgery.
Although The Undertaker is undergoing rehabilitation following a surgery, reports speculate that the 51-year-old wrestler could square off with The Phenomenal One at the pay-per-view event. When the Deadman returned at the historic 900th episode of SmackDown Live, he told fans that he would no longer be defined by just WrestleMania.
Meanwhile, Goldberg is scheduled to take part at Royal Rumble – a 30-man over-the-top-rope elimination match. Lesnar too is booked for the event, but as of now it is not known if the Beast Incarnate will face Goldberg or fight another wrestler.
Speaking about the Royal Rumble match, Goldberg told ESPN: "I'm only as good as my next appearance and my next match. I'm concentrating on the Royal Rumble and that's it. I don't have any plans of doing anything afterwards. My focus is on the 29 other men that I'm going to have to crucify to win that damn match."
The Undertaker's last fight was against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32 in a Hell in a Cell match.
