After visits to Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Trump met Pope Francis in Rome and held talks with the heads of European Union institutions and Nato in Brussels, before the G7 summit in Taormina, Sicily.

The president appears likely to go his entire nine-day trip without holding a full news conference, a break from presidential foreign travel precedent.
