Three people have been killed after gunmen stormed a pro-government Syrian TV channel.

It was reported that the terrorists planted explosive devices in the headquarters of al-Ikhbariya after ransacking the studios of the satellite channel, including the newsroom, which is completely destroyed.

The Syrian Information minister Orman al-Zoubi, speaking in Arabic said it was a real massacre what happened. This is what he said

"They committed a real massacre when they killed Syrian journalists and civilian employees in this building. Also when they killed the security officers and the employees at the reception. What happened this morning is a real massacre."

The Syrian press is tightly regulated by the Ministry of Information. Although Ikhbariya is privately owned, opponents of President Bashar al-Assad say it is a government mouthpiece. Ikhbariya has always said that it been pushing to counter what it says is a campaign of misinformation by western and Arab satellite channels on the uprising, which it describes as a foreign-backed terrorist conspiracy. So far no one has admitted responsibility.
