Tensions within NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers' family have been alleged as the reason behind the failure of his three-year romance with US actress Olivia Munn.

Despite previous reports of an amicable split between the two, rumour has it that the football quarterback pulled the plug on his romance over issues between Munn and his family. And the main reason behind the issues seems to be that "Olivia doesn't get along with his family".

"They think she's controlling," a source told Us Weekly shedding light on the couple's relationship issues. But, the decision to split wasn't a sudden one. According to the magazine report, the couple "went through a rough patch last summer" before parting ways.

It was in July last year, when the Rodgers family feud first came to public attention on the dating reality show, The Bachelorette. While trying to woo Jojo Fletcher, the 33-year-old athlete's brother Jordan candidly spoke about strained relations in the family and admitted that he hasn't spoken to Aaron in a long time.

Following Jordan's Bachelorette stint, it emerged that the Newsroom actress was at the centre of the feud. A source claimed, "When he got together with Olivia Munn, his family told him they didn't trust her and thought she wasn't with him for the right reasons. That made him furious, and he ended up choosing Olivia over his family."

Although, the decision didn't turn out well for the couple, the 36-year-old TV actress hasn't yet moved on. "She is devastated," a friend said, but she still "hopes they can works things out and get back together."

Meanwhile, the footballer has been introducing some "drastic changes" in his life amid the break-up news. "He's been getting weekly facials in Beverly Hills and has also hired Ryan Gosling's personal stylist to dress him," Us Weekly reported.

"He used to work out in Calabasas with his teammates during the offseason, but this offseason he's chosen to work out primarily with Nick Jonas in West Hollywood," the insider added.
