Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Turns Down Film Starring Brad Pitt [PHOTOS]
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is just recovering from her pregnancy, but the actress is being flooded with offers.
There was speculation that she might make a comeback in movies with director Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 3 but that rumour was later denied. The beauty queen bagged endorsement deals worth millions from Kalyan Jewellers. But the offer that tops it all is the role of Greek beauty Briseis in two-time Oscar-nominated director Wolfgang Petersen's latest movie. The actress turned it down and the reason for it has not been revealed.
If Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had accepted the role, she would be starring opposite Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. Director Petersen wanted Bachchan basically because the character of Briseis is a beautiful woman. But to the dismay of her fans, she will not star in the movie.
Aishwaray Rai Bachchan has acted in Hollywood movies like The Mistress of Spices, The Last Legion, The Pink Panther 2 and Provoked.
The biggest rumour is that the former beauty queen may not attend the Cannes Film Festival this year. The actress has been attending it regularly since 2002 and if she misses, this will be the first time. The reason cited is that she has reportedly put on weight after pregnancy.
"Ash gained 'oodles of weight' after the birth of her daughter and when she was spotted in a fat avatar recently at an event, the pictures set off a buzz on the internet and social media. Cannes Film fest holds a reputation of showcasing the best of the movies along with some avant garde fashion displayed by guests who attend the event. And, given Ash's current shape, her withdrawal from the event doesn't seem like a bad idea," Zee News reports.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's post-pregnancy picture was revealed by Oprah Winfrey who had visited India during that time. In the picture, she is seen wearing a loose salwar as she has put on lots of weight. The picture of her baby, Aaradhya Bachchan, has not been unveiled to the media till now.
