Alesha Dixon has announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Azuka Ononye.

The 34-year-old Britain's Got Talent judge and singer is said to have started dating Ononye, her former backing dancer, in 2012.

"Alesha Dixon and her partner Azuka Ononye are delighted to announce they are expecting their first child later this year," her spokesman said.

"Alesha and Azuka are looking forward to this happy chapter in their life and would request privacy to enjoy this happy and most important event. Further details will be given at the appropriate time," he added.

Pals of the Breathe Slow hitmaker said she was over the moon about becoming a mother.

A source said: "Alesha has always wanted to be a mum and is very excited about it. She is very happy."

Dixon got together with the Nigerian dancer, known as Az, after splitting with former So Solid Crew member MC Harvey in 2006.

Their breakup made headlines after it emerged that Harvey had had an affair with Javine Hylton.
