It proved to be a bitter sweetmoment for boxer Amir Khan on last night's (4 December) episode of I'm A Celebrity when he received a letter from wife Faryal Makhdoom. The letter was both funny and emotional, giving the viewers a hint that all was well with their marriage after a very public spat in recent months.

In the letter, which was read out by Vanessa White, Makhdoom wrote that she was five months pregnant and getting a little rounder.

"Hey babe, first of all I want to say how proud we all are of you. The family and I get together every day to watch you.

"Lamaisah [Khan's daughter] loves cheering you on when she sees you on telly and every time anyone asks her where daddy is she responds 'daddy's in jungle'. She's your biggest fan.

"I am so proud of you and how you are facing your fears in these trials. I have to say your screams are the funniest."

"We love you from the bottom of our hearts, from Faryal and Lamaisah," the American-Pakistani model had gone on to write.

Makhdoom also revealed that Khan's screams from his time in the jungle were now her ringtone. She seems to be really enjoying her husband's squeals, as she had had also tweeted earlier about how she couldn't get over them.

Sharing a video of Khan yelping during The Cash For Gold Challenge with campmate Iain Lee, Makhdoom's tweet read: "I just can't get over @amirkingkhan screams https://youtu.be/C-3elQXl9lM the best part of the show!! #imaceleb @ITV".

It has been anything but smooth-sailing for the couple in recent months, with Khan previously claiming on social media that his wife, a cosmetic entrepreneur and former model, had cheated on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.

Sharing a screenshot of Snapchat conversations between two people planning to meet up, Khan had tweeted to his 2.29 million followers: "Faryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer @anthonyfjoshua."

The Mirror previously reported that the 30-year-old joined the hugely popular ITV reality show to take a break from his marriage woes. "He's had a really horrible year. He just wanted to get away. The only space he could get away without getting into any more dramas or trouble is there," the newspaper quoted long-time friend Saj Mohamed as saying.

However, Khan and Makhdoom, 26 soon, seem to have reconciled in recent weeks.

The two-time world champion shared a picture of himself and Makdhoom cuddling up on the sofa with the caption: "With my 4 month pregnant wife, after sorting out all the issues. Closing the year with a happy ending @faryalmakhdoom". Makdhoom has also taken to Instagram to show that their relationship was now intact. The picture of the pair was accompanied by the caption: "If it's real they'll find you no matter how far you go."

Later in the episode, Khan admitted to Corrie star Jennie McApline that he didn't know his daughter's birthday. He incorrectly guesses it as 23 June, when Lamaisah was actually born on 24 May.

He received a lot of flak from viewers on Twitter for this:

But some viewers also made light of the situation saying:
