Android 4.4 KitKat: Force Immersive Mode on All Apps and UI [Simple Guide]
Among the many wonderful features in Android 4.4 KitKat, Immersive mode is easily one of the most important.
Apart from a few, most Android apps for your smartphone have designs from the pre-kitkat era. For those of you who have been itching to get them all looking fresh and modern, immersive mode can be forced upon all your existing apps and throughout the entire Android UI.
Here is a simple guide from PhoneArena that can help you do it.
Step 1: Installing Xposed Framework
Users will first have to download and install Xposed Framework which has been developed by rovo89. Get the .apk from here. You can either get it straight onto your device or load it onto phone via computer.
Step 2: Open Up Xposed Framework
Once installed, open up Xposed Framework and move into to Framework. Click Install/Update. After this, you will be asked whether you want to grant administrator permissions to the app. Click 'Grant'.
Step 3: Reboot
After the installation is complete, click 'Done' and reboot your device so that the changes can take effect.
Step 4: Immerse Me
After your device has been powered on again, open up Xposed Installer once more. Navigate to Download. Run a search for 'Immerse Me'. You will be served only one result called 'Immerse Me'. Click on it.
Step 5: Download Module
You will now have to download the 'Immerse Me' module by clicking the 'Download' button on the bottom. Once you've done that, move over to modules and tick 'Immerse me'. You will be prompted to reboot. Go ahead and perform the reboot.
Step 6: Mission Accomplished
Upon powering up the device, you would notice that Immersive mode has been forced upon all your apps and UI.
Note: It can be un-installed simply by remove the tick on Immerse Me(in modules and rebooting).
