Android 5.1 devices affected with strange notification bug
Several Android 5.1 devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 are reportedly affected with a strange notification bug code that reads "@17041057".
Although, the root cause of this bug is unknown, the error code is typically found at the bottom line of any expanded notification with more than seven elements in it.
According to one Google code thread user, the notification bug code or resource ID is accidentally generated by Android, when you run any apps that use the Standard Android Notification service.
Android Police further confirms that the bug is currently limited to Nexus devices, as no other devices are running Android 5.1 stock firmware from Google at the moment.
Although, Moto X 2014 with Android 5.1 update was earlier reported to be running this bug during the last soak test, it is not yet confirmed if the impending public roll-out will still be carrying the bug.
Google is yet to acknowledge the notification bug and it is unlikely that such a minor issue would get some public announcement for a patch or a fix. Instead the Android maker could silently release a fix for this bug, as part of forthcoming updates.
