Android 5.1 OS update rollout seemingly imminent for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition
Users of the Google Play edition (GPe) of Samsung Galaxy S4 can check their devices for the much expected Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS update that promises to correct known bugs/issues inherent in the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) platform.
According to a SamMobile report that quotes internal sources, Android 5.1 has undergone testing and is currently ready for rollout. This means that the newer software build should be released to users very shortly.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe runs Google's original Lollipop, the Android 5.0; and the smartphone should have been the first handset to get the more recent Android 5.1 upon the software's release.
Generally, the Google Play edition of smartphones receives Google's latest updates as soon as these are released.
Hence, users of the Galaxy S4 GPe can check their handsets on a regular basis for Android 5.1, and let us know the rollout status, in our comments section below.
