Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for HTC One M8 likely to be rolled out soon
HTC is apparently in development to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the One M8 in the coming days. The smartphone originally came with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and had received an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop a couple of months after its launch in 2014.
The release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the HTC One M8 has just been spotted in a Bluetooth SIG listing, courtesy technology blog GforGames. The listing shows that the Taiwanese company has started testing the new Android version beginning October 28.
Although there are no details about the update schedule, the company previously announced that Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the HTC One M8 and One M9 would start rolling out by the end of the year.
HTC may take some time to test the new build on 2014's flagship. However, there are rumours that the update will be available on the One M8 by the end of October or November.
Apart from the One M8 and One M9, HTC is in development to release Android Marshmallow update for the other smartphones including the One E9+, One E9, One ME and Butterfly 3 among others. The update will bring features like Google Now on Tap and Doze mode on the HTC smartphones, alongside some tweaks to the proprietary Sense UI.
