Android Lollipop OS update live for Sprint-driven Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note Edge in US: What's new

Users of Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note Edge, who have subscribed to Sprint's wireless network service in the US, can check out for the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS update that is now active for their smartphones.

Announcing the rollout of Android Lollipop for both its Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Note Edge subscribers, Sprint states that users can check out for the latest update via OTA.

The version number of Google Android Lollipop firmware upgrade applicable to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is N900PVPUEOC5, while that for the Galaxy Note Edge is N915PVPU0AOC8.

New features and enhancements

For AT&T-driven Samsung Galaxy Note 3:

Carrier-specific enhancements – Nil

General set of enhancements:

• Material Design: Material design offers fluid animations, vivid coloured themes and 3D-Views.
• Improved Lockscreen: Shortcuts for both Phone and Camera are provided, along with Material Design-inspired notifications.
