Android Lollipop OS update now active for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users in UK: How to download and install
Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS update to Galaxy S4 LTE users in the UK.
According to a SamMobile report, the Lollipop update (version number I9505XXUHOB7) is seeding to Galaxy S4 LTE (model number GT-I9505) via Samsung Kies.
The Galaxy S4 LTE originally ran on the now outdated Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box.
Last week, the Lollipop update was released for users of unlocked Galaxy S4 variants in France.
What's new?
Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users in the UK can check for newer features like 3D animation effects, improved notifications, material design user interface, ambient display feature, new lock screen notifications, battery saver feature, and a new task-manager interface that consolidates all apps at the same location.
Post installation, users can experience the "OK Google" voice command and Android Beam, which can be used in content projection.
How to manually download and install Android Lollipop OS update:
Google's Android Lollipop is available via the over-the-air (OTA) mechanism, but can also be manually searched for and downloaded as explained below:
- From the home screen, press the Menu button
- Tap Settings
- Scroll to and tap About device
- Tap Software Update
- Select Update now
- If new system updates are available, follow the on-screen instructions for installation, else tap OK.
