Android M may be rolling out to LG G4 smartphones across Europe LG

LG G4 users in Europe can check for Google's latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS as some users in Germany and other parts of EU have claimed to have received the update. The OS is seemingly seeding as a 1.5GB file.

According to GSMArena and a Reddit forum, the Android M OS update is currently live for LG G4 users in Germany. Users a the forum have suggested that the LG Bridge is need to download the update manually.

While the GSMArena report states that LG G4 users in Portugal can expect the update in the near future.

Key features of the Android Marshmallow

  • Android Pay: This is a contactless mobile payment system that allows Android users to make purchases at supported retail merchants via a virtual account number. This system does not give out a user's exact debit or credit card information.
  • Google Doze: Google Doze automatically compresses multiple background processes/tasks activated by Android OS to improve overall battery life when devices are left unattended for a long period of time. This feature could double the standby time of the device as well.
  • Google Now on tap: After installing Android Marshmallow, users can initiate the On Tap input. With this, additional information about any keyword can be obtained with a long press of the home button.
  • Fingerprint scanner: This function, along with Android Pay, is claimed to enhance the overall security of the smartphone. The technology also supports biometrc sensors.
