Andy Murray and Kim Sears wedding: Who has designed her dress?
Tennis champ Andy Murray will finally marry his longtime girlfriend Kim Sears this weekend. All eyes will be on her wedding dress but which designer will she choose?
The couple are set to tie the knot at Dunblane Cathedral on 11 April in a private ceremony attended by their close friends and family.
Few details are known about their big day but there has been some speculation surrounding who Sears, 27, has chosen to create her bridal gown. IBTimes UK looks at the fashion houses who stand a good change of dressing the soon-to-be Mrs Murray...
Jenny Packham:
Could one of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite designers dress Sears on Saturday? Rebecca Torres, a Scottish fashion designer, told the Daily Record that Sears would "really suit" Packham's creations.
"I think she will opt for tight-fitted lace or capped sleeves as she is getting married in a church. The overall look will be beautiful, but subtle," Torres said.
Packham is already favoured by Sears' mother-in-law Judy Murray, so perhaps she persuaded the artist to wear the designer up the aisle.
Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen:
Kate Winslet and Kate Middleton wore McQueen for their weddings and former Georgio Armani designer, Graeme Black, says designer Burton is a major contender.
"A Sarah Burton gown would look divine on [Sears], coupled with a lace veil and train. That would be amazing against the backdrop of the cathedral. Kim will definitely keep her dress crisp and neat."
Burberry:
Sears and Murray, 27, are both huge fans of the British fashion brand and there were even reports in 2013 that they would front a campaign for the house.
Burberry typically does not design wedding dresses but maybe they would make it a one-off for their top customers?
Celebrity stylist Kelly Lundberg told the Daily Record: "Andy and Kim are known as the 'Burberry couple' and the design house may have something special up their sleeve."
Victoria Beckham:
As well as Burberry, Sears loves a gorgeous Beckham creation and although the former Spice Girl does not have a bridal range just yet, maybe this will be her first?
Valentino:
The fashion house was recently favoured by Benedict Cumberbatch's wife Sophie Hunter who wore a beautiful medieval silver gown adorned with lace embroidery. Will Sears step out of the box and add a little edge to her dress?
