Overview
Andy Murray comes into this match following a comfortable win 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 win over German Matthias Bachinger. The Scotsman will be playing his third round match much earlier than his previous round and the heat could cause him problems as it did during his first round match.
Murray, who is a onetime US Open champion, will hope to get into top gear as he will start meeting some of the top contenders if he clears this hurdle.
Meanwhile, his opponent Kuznetsov is making his second US Open appearance, but it's his first time past the first round. The Russian is coming off of a grueling five set win over 31 seed Fernando Verdasco and will be looking to upset the 8th seed. Kuznetsov is making habit of beating seeded players at Grand Slams, as he also beat David Ferrer at Wimbledon earlier this year.
The winner of this game could be set to meet one of the form players coming into this tournament Jo-Wilfried Tsonga if he manages to win his game against Spaniard Pable Carreno Busta.
