Overview
World number 2 Andy Murray will be looking to kick-start his campaign as he takes on Federico Delbonis in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open on 14 March, Monday. Murray who beat Marcel Granollers in the second round 6-4, 7-6, (7-3) looked rusty and will look to get back to form against the dangerous Argentinian.
The BNP Paribas Open has not been a happy hunting ground for the 28-year-old, with Murray yet to win a title here, making just one final in a decade of appearances and that came way back in 2009 when he lost to Spaniard Rafael Nadal. A win here would see him progress to the round of 16 where he will face either Gael Monfils or Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
His opponent Federico Delbonis has had a mixed career so far, and made an impression in 2014 before fading over the last year or so. This is Delbonis's third appearance at the Indian Wells Masters and it is the first time he has made it to the third round. Expect a fight from the 25-year-old but chances of an upset are not on the cards, with Murray just too strong for his opponent.
