Overview
World Number two Andy Murray has had a tough start to the 2016 French Open and it got even tougher when he faced wildcard Mathis Bourgue in the second round.
The Scot struggled against Bourge, with it seeming like the Frenchman would upset him only for Murray to fight back and eventually win 6-2, 2-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in what was a thrilling encounter. The 29-year-old who has already played 10 sets so far comes into this encounter as favourite, but will need to step up his game if he has to progress in the competition.
His opponent Ivo Karlovic too is coming into this tie after just scraping past Australian Jordan Thompson 6-7, 6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 12-10 in the last round. The 37-year-old has won six ATP singles titles and has been ranked as high as 14 in the past.
Karlovic will go into this clash knowing that he is capable of creating an upset and progress to the next round.
