Overview
Murray continues his pursuit of Novak Djokovic's number one ranking, cruising past Lucas Pouille 6-3, 6-0 in the third round on Thursday, in a match that lasted just 72 minutes.
The world number two is currently on an 18-match winning streak, which has seen him secure titles in Beijing, Shanghai and Vienna along with a spot in the quarter-final of the ongoing Paris Masters.
The 29-year-old is the favourite to reach the semi-final and would go a step ahead in his endeavour of securing the number one ranking.
Tomas Berdych will play in this do or die clash hoping to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. With Marin Cilic qualifying for the event on Thursday, the battle for the final spot is between Berdych, Dominic Thiem and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
The Czech has fond memories of the event, winning his only Masters 1000 title at Paris, but looking at the form of Murray, it is unlikely that the former would be be able to cause an upset on 4 November.
