Angelina Jolie 'sad and lonely' as children worry over her well-being after Brad Pitt split – report
Maddox has reportedly taking up the role of the 'man of the house'.
Angelina Jolie's children are reportedly worried about their mother as she has been "sad and lonely" even since her split form former husband Brad Pitt.
HollywoodLife reports that son Maddox has been trying to cheer up the Maleficent star while taking up the role of the "man of the house".
"The last few months have really taken a toll, and she's been feeling extremely sad and lonely," a source said and added, "All of the kids are worried about her — Maddox particularly. He's assumed the role of 'man of the house' now Brad [Pitt] is no longer there. Maddox is constantly trying to get his mom to cheer up and live a healthy, happy life."
Furthermore, 41-year-old Jolie has reportedly made an offer to purchase a £19m mansion situated two miles away from the Allied star's Los Feliz home.
"Angie is interested in moving closer so it will be easier for the kids to see Brad. She lives in Malibu, a long commute for the kids," a source told The Mirror.
This comes just weeks after E! News in its report claimed that Jolie has been having "regrets" about how she has handled her split from Pitt.
Pitt, 53, recently opened up about his divorce in an interview with GQ Style and blamed himself and his alcohol problem for the breakdown of his marriage to Jolie. The former couple were together for 12 years before Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016. They share six children - Shiloh, Maddox, Knox, Vivienne, Zahara and Pax.
"But me, personally, I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something. I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know – things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing too much. It's just become a problem," Pitt told the magazine.
"(It was) self-inflicted... If you love someone, set them free. Now I know what it means, by feeling it. It means to love without ownership. It means expecting nothing in return. It doesn't mean f*** all to me until, you know. Until you live it."
He also talked about the child abuse claims against him. It was reported that Pitt was involved in a mid-flight altercation with Maddox. He was later cleared of the allegations.
"I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. After that, we've been able to work together to sort this out. We're both doing our best," Pitt said.
