Anne Hathaway is interested in returning to DC Universe as Catwoman
'I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her,' says Hathaway.
Anne Hathaway had donned the Catwoman suit for Christopher Nolan's 2012 movie, The Dark Knight Rises and the actress recently revealed that she is interested in reprising her superhero role in the DC Universe.
In an interview with Variety at the Toronto Film Festival, Hathaway said she would love to "take a trip back" and play Catwoman again. "I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I'm not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I'm part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back," the actress told the publication while promoting her upcoming sci-fi action-thriller Colossal.
When asked if she felt possessive of her superhero character, Hathaway revealed, "I don't think you can. It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well."
After Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy ended in 2012, the DC Cinematic Universe started a new reboot, beginning with the introduction of Henry Cavil as Superman in Man Of Steel. Ben Affleck replaced Christian Bale as Batman, as the caped crusader went head-to-head with the Kryptonian savior in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Following the events of Dawn Of Justice, there is a Justice League movie coming out in November 2017, featuring Gal Godot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Ray Fisher as Cyborg/Victor Stone, Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry and Ezra Miller as The Flash/Barry Allen.
While most superheroes are in the film, Catwoman seems to be missing. So do you want to see Hathaway reprise her Catwoman role in upcoming DC movies? Let us know your opinion in our comments section below.
