Anne Hathaway struggling with fertility issues? Magazine claims actress is adopting a child with Adam Shulman
Academy Award winning actress Anne Hathaway is reportedly planning to adopt a baby with her husband Adam Shulman.
According to the American edition of OK! Magazine, the 32-year-old Interstellar actress is allegedly struggling with fertility issues.
"From the start the couple envisioned a large family, including some biological and some they would adopt. But, getting pregnant has been a real struggle," a source said.
"There have been some very frustrating, heartbreaking moments. Anne was convinced that being so healthy and having a vegan diet meant that it would happen immediately, but that wasn't the case. They visited fertility doctors and tried alternative medicines, but none of that worked," the insider claimed.
The source said that Hathaway wants to adopt an American baby rather than one from a foreign country because she wants to "help kids close to home".
Hathaway and Shulman began dating in 2008, shortly after the Devil Wears Prada actress ended her relationship with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri, who was found guilty of fraud.
The two got married in 2012 at a private estate in Big Sur, California.
Hathaway had previously gushed about becoming a mother.
"I've wanted to be a mom since I was 16. But I also wanted to have a career, so I have been chomping at the bit to be a mother for a really long time," she told Closer Online last year.
"I also had to find a baby daddy first - which I now have," Hathaway added.
