Apple's iPhone 6, which was launched on 9 September, along with another larger flagship smartphone called iPhone 6 Plus, is now all set to hit Indian shores which is viewed as a 'potential' market by global technology giants.

Going by a post on Apple India's official website, both iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus will go up for sale in India starting 17 October. This means that various smartphones of other brands that are currently dominating the Indian smartphone sector will come under intense competition from both of Apple's newer flagship devices.

Some of the popular high-end smartphones in India include Samsung's Galaxy S5, Sony's Xperia Z series, Lenovo's high-end devices, apart from Apple's own iPhone 5S.

Pricing details of Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India are yet to go official. Both of Apple's latest flagships are currently priced at $650 (approximate price for an unlocked iPhone 6 variant in the US) and $750 (approximate price of iPhone 6L) in the United States.

Gauging the above aspects, we expect the price of iPhone 6 to hover somewhere around the INR 40,000 mark, and the price of the iPhone 6 Plus can be expected to lie between the INR 45,000 to INR 50,000 mark.

Both the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, once up for sale in India, will be offered by major wireless carriers in the country such as Aircel and Airtel.

It is no secret that Apple has incorporated a comparatively better battery life within both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus handsets. With the 'improved' batteries, iPhone 6 is claimed to provide a backup time of up to 14 hours on 3G networks, whereas the iPhone 6L's expected battery backup time is 24 hours (a full day) when connected to a 3G network.
