Arda Turan returns to Barcelona training as three youngsters are promoted ahead of Celta Vigo clash
La Liga leaders returned to training following their 5-0 win over Murcia in the Copa del Rey.
Forgotten Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan was back in training on Thursday (30 November) to step up the recovery from his latest mysterious injury.
Andre Gomes also trained with the rest of his available teammates while Ernesto Valverde promoted Oriol Busquets, David Costas and Jose Arnaiz from the second team to continue the preparations for the upcoming La Liga clash against Celta Vigo on Saturday (2 December).
Turan, 30, is yet to play a single minute since the beginning of the campaign amid recurrent reports linking him with a January move away from the Nou Camp.
Valverde decided to overlook him in the opening part of the season but the Turkey international has also missed several games and trainings due to fitness problems.
Turan has 'allegedly' suffered problems in the hamstring and in an ankle during this time while last week Barcelona informed about a new blow with the former Atletico Madrid playmaker being diagnosed a "dental abscess".
The veteran midfielder consequently missed the weekend draw with Valencia in La Liga and was also unavailable for the Wednesday's [29 November] 5-0 victory over Murcia in the Copa del Rey last 32.
Questioned about Turan's recurrent fitness problems in the preview of the game with the Second Division B side, Valverde said: "I am the manager and I absolutely trust the players and the medical team. If the player has a problem in the ankle, he has an ankle problem, I don't think about anything else."
And Barcelona have now informed that the Turkey international was back in training on Thursday morning when the rest of his available teammates returned to the club facilities to prepare the visit of Celta.
Gomes also trained with the Portugual international expecting to be back to face the Galician side after having been out of action during the last month due to a hamstring injury.
Oriol Busquets (18-year-old), Costas (22) and Arnaiz (22) were also promoted to the workout after the first two were handed their first-team debut during the 5-0 victory over Murcia which saw Barcelona progressing through the last 16 of the Copa del Rey with a 8-0 win on the aggregate.
Arnaiz scored one of the goals of the game after the promising winger already netted in the first-leg when making his debut last month.
"On another sunny but decidedly crisp feeling day, the players that featured in the cup tie went through a warm-down routine in the company of the also selected Oriol Busquets, David Costas and Jose Arnaiz of Barça B," the club confirmed.
"Arda Turan also appeared on the field at the Ciutat Esportiva to do injury recovery work, while Ernesto Valverde was also able to count on the presence of Ter Stegen and Ivan Rakitic."
Lionel Messi, Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti were all rested in the dead rubber encounter with Murcia and should be back to face Celta.
However, Javier Mascherano remains on the sidelines alongside long-term duo casualties Ousmane Dembele and Rafinha Alcantara.
