Overview

South American side Argentina currently who currently stand fourth in the points table with three points from three games, come into this clash on back of a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at the hands of India in their last game on 9 August.

Argentina though have showed glimpses of their potential especially during their 3-1 win over Canada and during their draw against giants Netherlands. Gonzalo Peillat and Matias Paredas have been in good form, scoring two goals each for their country.

Their head-to-head against Germany is also not something to write about and despite their improvements, they are not expected to cause an upset come Thursday.

Their opponents, Germany are currently top of the group with three wins from three games and along with Netherlands are the only unbeaten team in the tournament. The defending Olympic champions through their performances are showing just why they are considered the favorites to win a second consecutive gold medal.

Moritz Furste has been in brilliant form scoring four goals in three games, and while their defense has not looked as secure as in the past, they have still managed to scrape out wins. With two more games to go in the group stage, they will look to maintain their unbeaten run.
