Overview

Both Argentina and Paraguay made it to the last four after defeating Colombia and Brazil respectively in the penalty shootout. If the scores are tied after 90 minutes, the course of the match will be decided via penalty shootout in the quarter- and semi-final clashes.

Only in the final match, the game will go to extra time and then penalties, if the scores are on level. Argentina and Paraguay have met in the group stage of this edition of the Copa America and the clash ended in a 2-2 draw.

Despite Gerardo Martino's side taking a double lead early in the game, Paraguay bounced back in the second half as a late goal from Lucas Barrios helped them settle for a draw.

After the opening clash against Paraguay, Argentina have not conceded a goal and their impressive defensive record has to be credited to a brilliant centre-back partnership between Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Otamendi.

On the other hand, Paraguay have managed only one clean sheet and have conceded four goals so far in the tournament.
