Ariana Grande and Big Sean split: Ex boyfriend Nathan Sykes reveals he is still close to Nickelodeon star

Ariana Grande's ex boyfriend Nathan Sykes has revealed that he still shares a close relationship with the Nickelodeon star.

Back in 2013, Grande and Sykes were one of Hollywood's cutest couples and were popularly known as "Nariana" but the couple split after a brief but intense four months of dating.

During a recent interview with WonderWall, the former member of boy band The Wanted, was asked whether he is still in contact with the 21-year-old singer.

"Yeah, of course. When some things don't work out they don't work out. Long distances and stuff like that. On different schedules and touring in different parts of the world. It's like sometimes it doesn't happen so easily," the 22-year-old singer said.

The My Everything hitmaker recently had an ugly breakup with rapper Big Sean, who reportedly told his friends that his ex-girlfriend was "immature and selfish".

The couple decided to break up after eight months of intense dating and it is rumoured that the Nickelodeon star allegedly used Canadian singer Justin Bieber during her concert in order to hurt the American rapper.

The 27-year-old singer allegedly wanted to get back with the Break Free singer, but she did not make an effort to fight for their love.

"Sean was expecting Ariana to put up a huge fuss and beg him to stay, but she did the opposite. He most likely would have stayed with her if she made an effort," an insider told HollywoodLife.

"Sean is taking it hard. He feels like he failed with another high profile relationship. He has been emotional about it. It sucks because he was in love with her, but to him, her bulls- got in the way of their good times, so he's really taken things hard," the source added.
