Arrow season 4 finale promo and synopsis: Oliver teams up with a new force to stop Damien Darhk
The finale of Arrow season 4 will feature a major showdown between Damien Darhk and Oliver Queen, in the midst of a nuclear apocalypse. Episode 23 is titled, Schism, which will air on 25 May at 8pm EST on The CW.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
In Stephen Amell's words the finale will feature a scene which is "really unlike anything we've done on the show". In an interview with TV Line at the CW upfront presentation in New York, Amell shared some interesting details about the season 4 finale..
He said, "It feels more like a season finale next week as opposed to last year, which almost felt like a little bit of a series finale. But next week's finale's good. It has I think a lot of the closure that people are looking for and enough questions and teases for Season 5 that people will be excited."
In the season 3 finale, Oliver and Felicity rode off into the sunset together, but according to Amell this season's ending will be different. "It is different. But in a lot of ways it looks the same. Ironically, the way that that is set up for the finale is very much like it's gonna be about rescuing Felicity, and that is actually not at all what the episode is about. So for Oliver it's less about what is he gonna do versus how is he gonna approach it. Like, what is his state of mind gonna be? And we deal with that in feels like the early part of the episode," the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 actor explained.
He also teased a major moment for Oliver in the finale and revealed, "We have a scene that is really unlike anything we've ever done on the show, certainly with me as Oliver and not just speaking to the team, but speaking to Star City. We do that a little bit in the premiere where I announce myself as the Green Arrow and there is a bit of a callback to that in the finale and then the next step of that evolution."
A promo released for the episode shows people panicking over the news of an impending nuclear attack on Star City. Oliver gives the people some hope and announces, "I know that this city has been through tough times before, we will survive this."
Then we see people on the streets, as Darhk and the Green Arrow come face-to-face. The villian says, "Even if you stop me, those missiles are finding their target." But an optimistic Arrow replies, "It won't just be me." The promo ends with the people of Star City chasing Darhk on the streets.
Going by the promo, it seems like Star City will stand united in support of the Green Arrow in this difficult hour. To catch up on all the action, do not miss the finale of Arrow season 4 that will air on 25 May on The CW network.
