Arrow season 4: Stephen Amell reveals how and why Oliver will return to Starling City? Plot and production update
New updates on the premiere episode of Arrow season 4 have surfaced online and it looks like some fan theories - about what makes Oliver return to Starling City - may turn out to be true.
During a recent Facebook Q&A session, Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed that episode 1 of season 4 will start roughly half a year after the season 3 end where Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak drove into the sunset.
"Time has passed," Amell stated. "Like the standard amount of time. We go in real-time, like we normally do. So, five or six months have passed since the finale." (via ComicBook)
Amell also teased some huge shockers in the premiere episode. When a fan asked the actor if his jaw dropped while reading the season four premiere's script, the actor replied saying that it really did.
"It legitimately did," said Amell. "I emailed [showrunner] Marc Guggenheim directly after reading the season four premiere with three or four very pointed questions. Which he answered...mostly."
Moreover, Amell hinted at a potential reason for Oliver's return to the action at Starling City. When asked to describe the season 4 premiere in three words, he tweeted:
What's wrong Speedy? https://t.co/vsxmZLRRMG

Speedy, of course, is Oliver Queen's little sister Thea, played by Willa Holland, who spent season 3 turning into a full-fledged member of Team Arrow and even donned her own costume in the finale.
Amell's tweet suggests that maybe Thea lands up in some kind of major trouble which forces her brother Oliver to return.
Meanwhile, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim offered up our first peek at the season 4 premiere episode script (below) while very strategically blocking the episode title.
