Arrow season 4: Stephen Amell teases scene from the The Flash and Arrow's upcoming crossover episodes
Arrow season 4 returns this week with its fourth episode titled Beyond Redemption and fans can expect some intense family drama as Laurel brings Sara back to Star city and their father, after resurrecting her from the dead.
The official synopsis for episode 4 reads - "Laurel (Katie Cassidy) must deal with the repercussions of taking Sara (guest star Caity Lotz) to Nanda Parbat. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) asks Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne) for a favour and while he's not surprised at the response, he is surprised at what he finds out next."
It's pretty clear from the synopsis that this week's episode will delve a bit deeper into Captain Lance's mysterious storyline this season. The season 4 premiere episode teased that Lance has been working closely with the season's primary villain, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) for an unknown purpose. Maybe we will get to see the what and why of it in Beyond Redemption.
Actor Paul Blackthorne, who plays Captain Lance, recently opened up to Screen Rant about his character dealing with super-powered beings in the show's latest season as opposed to "mafioso and Triads and Russian gangs" earlier.
"The whole place, in his eyes, seems to have turned into a bit of a cartoon town with all these people sort of running around dressed up as they do, and I try to keep Lance on the ground in that way. He's shaking his head as much as anyone else would be shaking their head if this was going on, and it is going on. So, he has to try and deal with it. But, it is a strange thing for him to reconcile that, suddenly, there are people in tight leather costumes and doing rather bizarre things with playing cards," the actor stated.
Meanwhile, fans awaiting the big crossover episodes for Arrow and The Flash are really in for a treat. Actor Stephen Amell teased a few details about the forthcoming instalments and it looks like there's going to be a lot more going on than just Arrow and The Flash.
"I think these crossover episodes standing together will probably be, in my mind, the pinnacle achievement for both shows. We shot a scene that had, like, nine superheroes in it. Nine people with either powers or super suits. It was an amazing thing to look at, to look out over the scene and see the world that has been built over the course of three-plus years," Amell told Zap2it.
Arrow season 4 episode 4 titled Beyond Redemption airs this Wednesday, 28 October at 8pm ET on The CW.
