Arsenal injury news: Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubts for Liverpool clash
Arsenal manager Arsenal Wenger has confirmed Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, Thomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere are going to miss the Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday 21 December. Nacho Monreal, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are doubts for the match.
After the Gunners beat Newcastle United at the weekend with a convincing 4-1 victory, manager Arsene Wenger's side visit Anfield in search of securing three points in an attempt to return to the top four.
But the French boss has confirmed he will be without numerous players due to injuries.
"Wilshere, Ozil, Koscielny, Ramsey and Arteta are all out. They're all progressing as planned on," the manager said.
Wilshere is expected to be out until late February after he underwent ankle surgery last month following a tackle from Manchester United defender Paddy McNair.
Koscielny suffered a calf problem on his return to action from a lengthy spell on the sidelines against Southampton earlier in the month and is expected to be out of action for 10 more days.
Meanwhile, Ozil recently revealed he is going to return to training soon while Ramsey and Arteta expect to be available before the new year.
The manager also claimed Rosicky will miss the game but will return to action next week.
Furthermore, Wenger says Monreal, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain have to be assessed before making a decision on their participation, while goalkeeper David Ospina is back in full training.
He said: "There's a slight chance of Monreal being available and a very slight chance for Walcott.
"We hope that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit. We'll see that on Saturday. That's what we'll see on Saturday after a test. He's not in training at the moment."
