Arsenal and Tottenham Alerted as PSG Forward Drops January Exit Hint
Paris Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has put a number of clubs on alert - including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur - by admitting he is unsure of his future in the French capital.
The former Napoli star has maintained his presence in Laurent's Blanc side this season despite the arrival of Edinson Cavani during the summer and the imperious form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, appearing in 11 of the club's 16 Ligue games but has scored just once.
The Argentine has also started four of the club's Champions League games, but questions have been asked of his long term future at the Parisians, as speculation regarding a winter move remains with both Milan clubs also repeatedly linked with bringing the 28-year-old back to Italy.
Having previously remained quiet on rumours of his future, Lavezzi has admitted he is unsure what his immediate future holds, but stresses he will do everything in his power to endear himself to his current club should he remain in Paris.
When quizzed on a move away from PSG, Lavezzi told Le Parisen: "I do not know. A player never knows exactly all these things.
"But what I can tell is that I will do everything to change my situation in PSG because I did not give it my best shot and I do not want this to continue.
"I did not do a good preparation before the championship. And the fact that my level is not good is certainly linked to the fact that physically I am a bit weak."
Lavezzi will also be looking to impress Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella over the next six months and secure a place in his national team squad for Brazil 2014.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham could be in the market for additional forward options. While Nicklas Bendtner returned to the starting XI with a goal mid-week, the club remain light on cover for Olivier Giroud with the unproven Yaya Sanogo the club's only other forward option.
Spurs meanwhile have well-documented problems with their misfiring forwards with none of their strikers having found the back of the net in the league since the end of October.
