Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £12m summer move for Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new, experienced right-back, after veteran Bacary Sagna admitted he could leave the Gunners this summer and join either Paris Saint-Germain or AS Monaco.

Having considered a host of options, Wenger has now earmarked Lichtsteiner as the ideal candidate to replace Sagna, according to the Express. The Switzerland international, who can operate as a full-back or a winger on the right, has made 28 Serie A appearances for the Old Lady this season, with four goals to his name.

It is understood that Juventus are ready to part company with the 29-year-old, who joined the Bianconeri from Lazio in a €10m deal in 2011, as they have already lined up a move for Borussia Dortmund's Lukasz Piszczek as his replacement.

Lichtsteiner, nicknamed Forrest Gump for his energetic runs up and down the flanks throughout the match, is also attracting interest from PSG and Bayern Munich, who are both keen on signing a right-back during this window.

Neville: Arsenal Must Challenge for Title Next Season

Meanwhile, Gary Neville insists Arsenal must push on and challenge for the title, after securing a top four finish on Sunday.

The Gunners beat Newcastle United 1-0 to edge out Tottenham Hotspur in the race for a Champions League spot on the final day. And the former Manchester United and England defender feels the club must now work hard and challenge for the league once again.

"It's a good time to keep perspective. They're celebrating - and rightly so - but let's not forget they finished fourth. This is Arsenal, who have set a standard in these last 15 years under Arsene Wenger and they've now got to go for it. They have got to improve next season. Arsenal have done really well for the level they are at, but as Theo Walcott says, they now need to be challenging for a title," Neville pointed out.
